Hi friend,
How's that elevator pitch coming along? Last week we were talking about developing an elevator pitch so you're ready to promote yourself to others! If you haven't had much time for it yet, I suggest chipping away at it a bit each day. Even if you think you'll never use it, saying those words, even just to yourself, can really guide you along your journey. It's normal to feel like, "I can't do this," or worry about failing, but remember, big changes take time and effort.
Living aka life-ing (especially adulting) can be tough, sometimes it's downright uncomfortable or painful. My fingers ache, my back hurts, my dogs are barkin' – you name it! And do you ever feel overwhelmed by everything you have to do? I sure do! Life moves so fast, and sometimes I worry that I'll never catch up. But then I remind myself: it's okay to feel uncomfortable. Life isn't always smooth sailing, right?
And guess what? Life happens outside your comfort zone.
Think about diamonds. They're formed under tons of pressure and heat. And even after all that, they need to be cut and polished to really shine in the sunlight.
We're kind of like diamonds. We're shaped by the challenges we face. So, let's circle back to last week's topic: promoting yourself.
Did you give it a shot? Or was it too scary? I get it, but I also want you to grow and be your best self. So, let's use promoting yourself as a starting point to get comfortable with being uncomfortable and find some awesome clients, or heck, conquer whatever may require some "getting yourself out there." Here's my master plan.
DO THIS
Try pitching your services to potential clients. Here are some good places to start:
Bank Tellers: They're always showing off their nails. Why not offer them your services? They could become clients themselves, plus they can recommend you to others.
Receptionists: Whether it's at a hotel, medical clinic, law office, or anywhere else, they're also great prospects. Doctors, lawyers, and business owners all want to look polished, and receptionists can spread the word about where to go for great nails.
Try something like,
"Hey so I was curious if you like getting your nails done OR I noticed your nails.
I'm a gel nail specialist and I'm super passionate about quality nail care. I focus on high performance services/nail art/healthy product choices/pain-free nail journeys, and I'd love to have the chance to do what I do best for you!" {pick a focus that you honestly care about but also might resonate with this particular person}
Would you be interested in booking with me? Here's my card and let me get your contact info while I'm here so I can stay in touch."
THINK THIS:
Does this sound easy? Probably not. But it helps to remind yourself of your awesome qualities, skills, and what you bring to the table. Focus on the great services you offer, the safe products you use, and how happy your current clients are when they leave feeling fabulous.
Or if you're just getting started or enjoying your own nails, think about the happiness that bubbles up in your soul when you dive into nail care. That joy is contagious and you have a powerful gift to share with the world!
The confidence you gain and share through your passion spreads like ripples, making everyone around you feel great too. So your impact is widespread. With these thoughts in mind, you'll feel more able to promote yourself.
Remember, change takes time. Start small – maybe just talk to one person – and go from there.
I'm rooting for you!
